Leah R. Brown has released the Director’s Cut edit of her latest film in collaboration with Another Feather. A surreal and striking short, ‘Meeting In The Cafe’ showcases pieces from the jewellery brand’s Sienna Collection. The film follows a solitary figure, played by Jodi Balfour (True Detective, The Crown, Quarry), who leaves her apartment on what appears to be an ordinary day before an ominous encounter with an old friend challenges her to see the world differently. Shot on Kodak 16mm, Brown’s evocative direction creates a dream-like vision, with a muted colour palette and skewed camera angles contributing to an enduring sense of unease. We provided the music supervision for the film, working with Ninja Tune artist Dark Sky to create a vivid soundscape at the film’s climax. Euphoric pads help to illuminate the mysterious atmosphere, while bassy, rhythmic beats, and synth arps provide a sense of catharsis at the end of this eerie journey.
