MeetMeThere Weekender

MeetMeThere Weekender is a brand new not for profit festival in Dzita, Ghana which took place in March of 2018. All proceeds went to sister charity Dream Big Ghana, a project aimed to help improve sanitation for local communities in Dzita, Eastern Ghana.
Raising funds to enable the festival to go ahead was of course the biggest challenge. Charity fundraising events such as day parties, food festivals, silents auctions, workshops and nightclub events raised a total of over £10,000, one of many strategies to fund the festival. Further funds came about from pitching for donations to large coorprations, as well as local and international brand sponsorships deals.

Many challeneges were met and pvercoem such as sourcing quality equiptment and materials on a tight budget, sourcing safe and appropriate accomodation for non residents and guests, providing catering and bevergaes for the whole crowd for the entirity of the festival, attaining sposnsorship deals from local alcohol suppliers.

To raise awareness about MeetMeThere Weekender, I compiled an online series of guest mixes from a selection of our favourite artistst, to help promote awareness for the festival, the charity, and the type of music to expect to be showcased.

The festival raised over £6000, enough to comission a whole new toilet block for a local school in Anyanui.
