THE BRIEF
Designing a transmedial system about the writer, journalist and translator Luciano Bianciardi and his life in Milan.

THE IDEA AND THE PROCESS
We wanted to communicate the critical and ironic view of Bianciardi about Milan so that people could see the city in a different way and notice the similarities or the differences between the city in the Sixties and the contemporary one.
After a phase of research on the author and his works we picked out the places in Milan that were related to them, then we chose the main ones and we underlined two routes.
Then we decided the different elements of the system and we designed them: a website (that is a hybrid between a web documentary and a story map), a mobile application, a printed book, signage on the territory and a social strategy (which has elements both in the city and online).
I designed the mobile app, which is an audio guide that allows the users to walk around the city while listening to excerpts from the works of the author. It is also possible to read quotes, see pictures or video and unlock contents by going to the points of interest and scanning the QR code on the panels located there. People can also interact with the places using the camera tool of the app to get a picture of the area mixed with an older photo of the same place in the 60s.
