Mind Over Matter: Thinking Like Einstein

  • Rachel Shore
The immersive exhibition space Mind over Matter: Thinking like Einstein is based on eleven chapters of Lightman’s novel Einstein’s Dreams. Nine immersive areas surround a science exhibition; each of these offer a unique and sensory experience.
The concept of the space represents Einstein’s method of ‘hard and soft thinking’. ‘Hard thinking’ (time spent focussing on and considering a problem) is signified by the science exhibition. The immersive exhibition signifies ‘soft thinking’ (time to mentally set the problem aside and do something pleasurable and relaxing).
Each immersive space is a self-contained story offering a memorable and stimulating impression of Einstein’s brilliant mind by using multisensory and interactive elements.
