Within my current role I will often get requests to design and build sites and supporting promotional material for company-wide competitions. The "Ministry of Fun" (or the "MoF") is an internal function whose purpose is to give staff a well-deserved break from their day-to-day roles and to encourage inter-department relationships.
This particular promotion lasted for a month; each week a different competition was announced with a new site released. An email would be sent to all staff, which redirected them to the respective site to enter the competition. Given the length of the promotion and the vast number of emails staff receive, the client requested that the branding was fresh and original, and that there was a clear theme running throughout so staff could easily spot MoF communications.
(And, yes, they are genuine cardboard cut-outs!)
