Monmouth Avenue - Residential project

Monmouth Avenue is a detached Edwardian house, constructed around 1910, and located within the Topsham Conservation area. Our clients wanted to create a bright and spacious family home, upgrading and modernising the existing dark and dated house. We took the whole house back to its brickwork and removed the old staircase and poorly constructed kitchen extension. We reconfigured the internal space and introduced a new bespoke staircase, double doors to the rear that open onto the garden, and new windows throughout to help maximise natural light. During the design process, we were careful to ensure that we combined both traditional and contemporary styles in order to maintain the character and period features of the property, whilst still modernising the overall aesthetic. We are now working with the client on phase two of the project to convert the loft into a new master suite, and introduce a side extension to provide more living space at ground floor level.
