"a transportive installation"
working with a concept of reconceptualising the ordinary, i reclaimed the plants bryophyta or moss from their urban environment.
constructing a soft wood host, i created a shape that could hold the moss while allowing views through it
creating an adhesive paste of blended moss, sugars, and fat emulsion, i painted the interior of the box with the moss mix hoping it would take hold and grow
the moss grew on the softwood structure, providing a view through as well as a smell and dampness that contributed to the atmospheric feeling of viewing through the device.
