Mothercare Innosense Range - 3D Packshot Visuals

  • Emlyn Davies
Bomper was engaged by i2ieurope to solve the problem of visualising the Products for the front of packaging for the NEW Mothercare Innosense range. The problem was that the products were being developed abroad with a manufacturer and were not available to shoot for photography.

My task was to use the CAD models supplied from the manufacturers along with samples of materials and Pantone colour references and re-create the products in 3D. There were over 20 products to build and over 60 visuals required for both front and back of pack along with several group shots and various views of each product.

The packaging design was being created by Pearlfisher who set the design direction for the Packshots. There was strict restrictions on viewing angles and visual consistency of each product shot throughout the project as shown below;

Render Style – 3D Perspective

Composition - 3/4 angles, or angle which best showcases the product and its usage

Lighting - lit from the front, natural day light

Focus - sharp focus all over the product, highlighting that every part of it is important.

Background - white/off white.

Shadows - soft natural shadows being cast from the product

SUPER REAL - sharp and photographic

Each CAD model was imported to Cinema 4D and rebuilt if there were surface
