Motley is on a mission. Having identified a gap in the world of jewellery, they set about working with some of the world’s best designers to create quality jewellery at an affordable price. Motley needed an equally bold identity to equal their vision. Working together, we did away with the all the usual visual tropes to create an identity full of colour, energy, surrealism and with more than a pinch humour. We created a custom wordmark and supporting monogram and paired it bright colours. We brought a tactility to the art direction by hand painting over the top of a mixture of colour and black and white photography to highlight and obscure in equal measure. All models were non-professional - further reinforcing Motley’s mission to democratise the world of jewellery, piece by piece.
