Movement of the City

  • Isabella Mauger
An overview of my Major project is that I have chosen to create a autumn/winter collection designed for genderless fashion. I was mostly inspired by the Kei genderless fashion phenomenon in Japan. The imagery I chose to base my project was crowds in the moving city. I wanted to focus on the individual people within the crowds being who they are and being in their own world. The imagery that I worked from includes photographs and drawings. The colour pallet is inspired by both genders and the stereotypical genderless colours.

My samples consist of sublimation prints on a range of fabrics that are suitable for winter/autumn seasons. I then went on to add elements such as foiling to the prints and then heavily embellish with sequins, beads and handmade embellishments to add a luxury to my samples.
