Museeum

A Design to make sense of art.

Museeum is an online magazine, which covers everything to do with museums. Its mission is to make galleries and art spaces more accessible to the wider public. Going to a museum is an experience that can be enjoyed by anyone, anywhere, and for many different reasons, including its standout architecture, its delicious food, it’s unique gift shop, breathtaking grounds, and of course its wonderful art. As such, Museeum has organized its editorial content according to five main elements: Breath for the museum’s grounds, See for its art, Taste for its food, Touch for its shop and Listen for its activities and talks.

Visual ID

Museeum presents people with a plethora of new ways to enjoy Museums. We illustrated this spectrum with striking gradients of a mystical purple. The brand’s name hints at the sense of vision, one of the brand’s many pillars, so we placed that word in an open box, hinting at the idea of different alternatives and an open conversation. The font used for the logo embodies two ideals, clarity and artfulness. All of these elements come together in the form of a sleek and minimalistic logo, drawing inspiration from contemporary art.

Collaterals

The evolutive stream of purple is a constant throughout Museeum’s visual universe, adapting to the different environments it occupies, much like the brand. Using the same logic as with signage, we designed a vast iconography that would allow Museeum to categorize its different sections in a clear and fun way.
The Museeum team came to us seeking help with their visual identity as well as the design and development of their website. Museeum’s challenge was twofold. On the one hand, they needed to shed the highbrow stigma associated with museums. On the other hand, their editorial line tackled a slew of divergent subjects that needed a clear categorization. So we needed to create a visual universe unique to the brand, understandable by any visitor, and quite simply attractive.
