My Street - Lockdown with Neighbours - Personal Project

  • Richard Cannon

I have been looking at several photographers, photographing residents in their local area, outside their homes and through their windows and decided to get in on the act to keep my self busy during these unusual times. I have very little work as most of my commissions are for editorial content. The work that I have been commissioned has been shooting with a mobile backdrop keeping my 2 meter social distance and wearing a mask. I used this way of working to photograph a personal project to shoot my street's residents. I set up outside my home and used the network of neighbours whats up group to pass on a message that I will be taking portraits of anyone who wish to have their photographs taken. If they want they can bring items that has been helping them get through the lockdown. I was extremely grateful that I got around half of the residents and made sure one family at a time would come to the shoot adhering to strict social distancing.
