NAMELESS SOUL. Graduate Collection

  • Ewa Burak
The Collection draws inspiration from the discovery of 3,500 copper canisters found in the Oregon State Hospital, a psychiatric institution. The collection shows how subjective life and loss may be; and it captures failed communication, and an interminable longing for things that apparently disappear only to reappear in a new light.
Collection is based around straight jacket and there is a massive influence of uniform and functionality, so all the shapes are non-fitted. Textiles are rough and have texture, and together with colour palette take straight influences from David's Maisel photography project 'Library of Dust' of the canisters.
