NARI

NARI (sanskrit: woman) is a [fictional] film festival celebrating the decade’s best films by South Asian women. As someone who grew up with Indian cinema and rarely saw women filmmakers into the mainstream light, I chose to create a festival that would bring light to women working behind the lens. Running through the month of March at Rich Mix, one of London’s most culturally involved theatres, NARI will be featuring critically acclaimed films from an array of South Asian languages like Hindi, Dari, Bengali, Assamese, and more.
