Network Rail - St Vincent Street

Summary

Inspiring design for a new headquarters

Challenge

With Network Rail’s Glasgow headquarters relocating to a reconfigured and re-fitted1980s office block, the interior design, graphics and signage needed to work hard to create an inspiring working environment that not only felt part of the Network Rail family, but which also projected its own personality.

Solution

Signage and graphics worked sympathetically with the interior architect’s overall ‘Earth Strata’ theme, enhancing the sense of harmonious calm on each of the six floors, but importantly helping users to orient themselves within the space. To give the environment a sense of its own location, infrastructure imagery around the building focused on Scotland, inspiring the team with long-standing achievements from the past.

Results

St Vincent Street has been entered into the BCO (British Consortium of Offices) Awards 2016, in the Fit Out of Workplace category.
“Our goal was to create a modern and professional office environment that everyone can be proud of and I think those entering the offices for the first time will be suitably impressed by the standard and style of our surroundings.”
