A conceptual project for It’s Nice That to re-engage their original audience of university students; Nice Swap is a portfolio-style network purely for hand made (or non-mass-produced) items.
The swapping system enables users to negotiate trades on artisan items and services, creating connections between creatives and promoting the sharing of work. Invites to join and swap are also extended to high-profile industry members, which helps students and graduates gain exposure and builds more of a collaborative community than a commerce website.
Every member receives a rubber stamp and spot varnished stickers and tags to add to anything they see in “real life” that they think would be a good swap. A weekly twitter competition for the best placement of these materials encourages sharing and helps promotion.
