I founded the society after identifying a niche for a Fashion related club at Nottingham Trent University.
The process entailed stating to the Students Union, in an application, the need for a new society at Trent, explaining the aims and objectives in a General Union Meeting and having the society voted on by Union members. We were finally affiliated in May 2014.
The role required organising and managing a committee, holding regular social events and providing a platform to help students at the university with opportunities such as internships and skill development workshops.
Notable achievements included:
· The launch of a members’ card which enabled students to receive discounts at a variety of stores and restaurants across Nottingham
· Becoming one of the largest societies at Nottingham Trent University
· Being nominated for the ‘Best New Society’ award at the SU awards
· Gaining over 150 members in the first year
