NOWNESS x English National Ballet

The latest film for NOWNESS from director Leonn Ward is a collaboration with the English National Ballet. It introduces principle dancer Precious Adams (double prize winner at the Prix de Lausanne 2014, finalist for the Emerging Dancer Competition 2018) to the screen. Away from the stage, Adams performs in the natural surroundings of Hackney Marshes. An honest portrait of the dancer is formed by Adams’ poetic narration as she reveals her spiritual relationship with dance and it’s connection to both the mind and the body. This emotion is underscored by her graceful dancing on-screen. For the music, we sourced a percussive jazz instrumental which contrasts with Debussy’s ‘Clair De Lune’ to accentuate the alluring and unconventional ballet performance.
