Nuni - Fairtrade & Lovingly Handmade

  • Nada Abughris

Nuni is a proposal for the rebrand of Enfair, a fair-trade social enterprise that offers handmade fashion accessories designed by female artisans in India from disadvantaged backgrounds. The initiative equips the artisans with traditional embroidery and sewing skills in order to help them gain financial independence. Nuni (Enfair) was founded by Nuni. R a passionate fair-trade supporter who seeks to empower women through her initiative. The renaming of Enfair to Nuni was integral as Nuni started the initiative and still remains at the forefront of its success. The brand identity captures the Nuni concept with a handmade logo word-mark which echoes the marks of hand stitches and knots. The accompanying logo mark echoes a cross-stitch and a knot, a design achievable through sewing by hand. These elements can be used both separately or as a pair, their playfulness is what gives them flexibility to be used across any medium. Additionally a minimal palette of black and white lets the colourful merchandise inspired by the flora of India take lead.
