NYCTOPHILIA

  • Charlotte Vennstrom
Striving to capture the essence of claustrophobia from a Scandinavian context, where the sun is ever-present during summer and almost non-existent in winter. With moving and still images I explore the body’s relationship with light and darkness, emerging and submerging from indistinct, curiosity and the shadow’s shifting forms. While the body adapts to darkness the mind too enters an immersive state of madness, which then leads to a final acceptance (nyctophilia).
