OH TO BE BY THE SEASIDE

This project is based on my seaside hometown, Whitstable. This was my first university project solely in lockdown so I was able to explore my hometown more and gain research from the seaside. As well as focusing on my hometown, I was influenced by sailor tattoo culture and PEG (Profanity Embroidery Group based in Whitstable). Through my designs and material use, I made links to ocean and beach sustainability. For sampling, I focused on honing my bead work skills to continue with my final major project.
