Opa Sylvius’ branding is based on the life of Franciscus Sylvius who invented gin at just 8 years old. Understandably, this was hard for many people to believe at the time and he was branded a liar, resulting in him being determined to prove them wrong. ‘Opa Sylvius’ is founded by Franciscus Sylvius’ grandson who wanted to continue his Grandfathers’ legacy. The packaging gives a nod to it’s heritage as well as Franciscus’ work as a Physician before his death in 1672.
