Open Education Week

  • Miglena Minkova
Logo proposal for Open Education Week 2012, the first ever world wide event of its kind, organised by OCW, which promotes free and available educational resources for everyone.

The logo represents a free-scale network of points which static position corresponds to the geographic locations of all participants in Open Education Week. Based on Hoberman’s sphere, this shape is capable of folding down to a fraction of its normal size, an it is used as a metaphor which presents the core values behind Open Education Week.

The design of the logo is built on Processing 1.5.1 and could be easily amendable without changing the core connections between the points. This allows for the generation of multiple variations of the logo, without any loss of the general identity. Additional web or signage graphics could be generated.
