ORGANISING NATURAL CHAOS

  • Hannah Board
Self directed project based upon the organization of natural objects and forms. Taking particular inspiration from land art, focusing on the shapes and textures found within it to create drawings for print and etch designs.

This project focused on my two specialisms of surface manipulation; laser etch and print techniques, hand and digital. I collaborated to create three dimensional tile shapes that replicate the surface of the land. From this I was able to create an innovative collection of hard and soft surfaces for interiors.

The final print designs are a combination layered techniques, highlighting certain textures and shapes. This in turn enhances each design. Materials used included both hard and soft surfaces. Varying from organic cottons and linens, velvet, suede, resin and plaster. Every material had a different tactile quality to them, which made each individual sample innovative in their own way.
