ORYX AND CRAKE

  • Emily Willment

This project is based on the idea of bringing the novel Oryx and Crake to life, so an audience can experience the key messages of the novel first-hand. I created the identity and ephemera for Paradice Lab, which in the book plays on human desire to end civilization through two products, the BlyssPluss sex pill and the Crakers who are genetically modified, perfect humans. For the poster photography, I collaborated with Anna Peacock to create two-tone images that reflected the most significant colours within Oryx and Crake. I also wanted to achieve an off centre look so the text and logo would look balanced as well as authoritative.
