Partial Nudity (Edinburgh Fringe 2016)

  • Emily Layton

A new show about strippers, not a strip show. Darren and Nina are both strippers. They are both lost young people in their 20s. They both need this. So when they are forced to share a ‘dressing room’ in the back room of a Bolton pub on a muggy Saturday night in August, you might expect that their similarities would pull these two strangers together. But, of course, that would be too easy. As the pube-plucking, penis-pumping preparation commences Darren and Nina are left exposed in every sense and asking themselves the question: can they really do this?

A new play, written and directed by Emily Layton, produced by Fandango Productions and starring Joe Layton and Kate Franz, which was first performed at ZOO Venues at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2016.

Work on Partial Nudity began in April 2016, after a place for its performance at the Edinburgh Fringe in August was secured by Fandango Productions (Joe Layton and Kate Franz.) Here it saw its debut from 5th-27th August 2016 at ZOO Venues’ Monkey House. It received a plethora of brilliant four and five star reviews and was generally acknowledged as an exciting follow-up from Layton’s Two Thirds, from the previous year.
