Pencil Drawings - Chiaroscuro & Realism

  • Amar Azad

These 3 pieces below are intricately created by pencil, various rendering motions are exposed in this series. Liner, cross hatching and circler motions, which is created by many little circles overlapping and creating a soft finish. I use a selection of pencils, H, HB and 2B to create tones, depth and contrast between light and dark. These drawing are based around the fundamentals of Chiaroscuro and Realism. I hand picked a few of my photographs to draw and used it for reference for the base of my art, photography has been and interest for me since academic years and capturing visuals always has been inspiring as it creates a moment and pause. Composition, perspective and textures are areas I concentrate on also.
