These are my shortlisted submissions for the penguin book covers competition 2015.
Freakonomics explores the hidden side of everything and unearths the truths about various economic situations. I took inspiration for this design from the circus and freakshows. Combining the styles of circus posters from the 1800's and modern day graphic design.
Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit is a story about a young girl discovering herself in an extremely religious setting. It is about her rebellion and journey through childhood. My idea for this design came from the packaging of oranges. I made the book into an orange and proposed the idea the book would be packaged in an orange net just like oranges in the supermarket.
