Shortlist and Highly Commended:

Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson. The idea that the orange symbolises what 'must' be right is not always correct. The shadow of the apple (forbidden fruit) is to represent the femininity, temptation and sexuality that is conveyed in this book, evolving from the story of Adam and Eve. This book is about both sexuality and religion which leads me to the chosen type (Caslon) and layout of the book, resembling a biblical format.
