Pixels of Fury, Cannes Lions 2017 - Winners

Shutterstock’s Pixels of Fury returned to the French Riviera this year to host its third live design battle at Cannes Lions. The competition drew designers from a diverse set of backgrounds, including Turkey, Brazil, Poland, Russia, and the US. In a head-to-head battle, taking place in front of a huge 1,000-person audience, these brave designers took to the stage to create a Cannes-inspired perfume or aftershave bottle in just 20 frantic minutes.

Pixels of Fury Cannes Lions 2017

Round 1 Challenge:

Create a perfume/aftershave bottle inspired by Cannes Lions in 20 minutes.

Round 2 Challenge:

Create an out of home campaign using your bottle design in 20 minutes.

The crowd cheered the designers on, watching their perfume bottle designs unfold on the big screen. Some went with irreverent branding, while others explored the more sophisticated side of Cannes. After an intense round of audience voting, two designers made their way into the final: Andrea Souza and Bartomiej Walczuk aka MR. OSOM (Polish read of Awesome).


Final Round

In an exciting final round, Walczuk finished with ten minutes to go, exiting the stage as Souza continued to design furiously. Those 10 extra minutes might have paid off, as Souza was ultimately voted the winner of Pixels of Fury. This is her second win – she previously won in Sao Paulo in 2013. Now she adds another furious pixel to her trophy cabinet.
