Podium

In 2007 I was asked by a successful, UK-based, independent eyewear distributor to help them expand their portfolio by creating a pseudo-retro brand specifically designed to appeal to the growing market for vintage-inspired eyewear.
I was tasked with conceiving and developing an optical and sunglass collection for a market whose perception of fashion extended beyond the transient; wearers whose style was informed by an appreciation of the prevalent retro-artistic trend. In creating the Podium aesthetic I celebrated truly iconic styles of the past and infused them with a renewed vigour, whilst incorporating fine detail, superior materials and rich colour to ensure a collection of elegance, artistry and flair.
Podium was launched in 2008 and instantly appealed to the market's rapidly growing desire for a more refined look of creative design and faux heritage.
