A computer mouse works via a LED light that bounces down from the mouse, hits the surface beneath and bounces back up to a light receiver in the mouse. The movement of the light determines where the cursor on-screen moves to.
Bounce is a game that makes the processes of a computer mouse easily comprehendible. The red ping-pong ball represents the LED light. The mirrored ping-pong bat represents the light receiver, which converts the analog hand movements into digital cursor movements.
The computer screen is visualised on large game boards, displaying the interfaces of YouTube, Google and Finder. The targets represent the places the cursor needs to hit to complete the action.
People learn through playing with the bat and ball that their physical movements are acting as the movements of the mouse, and hence the cursor on the screen.
