Proposition for an Infinite Garden

In 2014 I have curated “Proposition for an Infinite Garden” a project that took place at The Government Art Collection (London) and featured an exhibition and a series of parallel tours and events. In addition to a selection of pieces from the collection, the exhibition included two newly commissioned works. As a result I have been developing and monitoring commissioning contracts, budgets and physical productions. Moreover I was given the responsibility to coordinate the entire Collection’s staff around a detailed calendar of tasks and activities concerning conditions reports, restoration/framing of works, documentation, drafting commissions’ proposals, testing proposed commissions within the space, preparing communication material for press, carrying out health and security tests, discussing evolving concept and works selection with the director and the senior curator, etc. “Proposition for an Infinite Garden” was an extremely valuable opportunity to further refine my project management skills and, most importantly, my ability to effectively capitalize on limited resources, aiming at excellence even when working in adverse conditions. In this regard I managed to deliver an excellent project regardless of the numerous limitations this institution posed on a political, logistical, financial and administrative level.
