QLED Samsung Competition

Lázló is a sculptural TV stand designed as an entry for the 2017 Dezeen QLED Samsung Design Competition. The design proposal transforms the QLED TV into a sculptural object that enhances the living room when it’s off.
It takes inspiration from the early twentieth century modernist and constructivist movements and in special from the work of László Moholy-Nagy. Framed by the tubular structure, the TV becomes an abstract shape creating a visual sense of depth and contrast with the colour panel.
The TV is apparently suspended on a tubular metal frame, floating in front of a coloured transparent panel. The panel not only allows for colour customization but also is a structural component as without it the tubular frame would collapse with the weight of the TV.
