#RaisetheAge

One of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's core policy projects was to raise the age of criminal responsibility from 16 to 18. At the time, New York was one of only two states in the nation to prosecute 16-year-olds as adults in the criminal justice system. This allowed for 16 and 17-year-olds to be tried in adult courts and sent to adult prisons. By October 2019, New York state will no longer automatically prosecute all 16- and 17-year-olds as adults.
Our comprehensive digital media plan was focused on drawing attention to the subject and drumming up support via social media, email and an SMS campaign.
