Rancho Folclórico Experimental do Carvalhido

  • David Matos

Rancho Folclórico Experimental do Carvalhido is a project of artistic creation and research in the fields of experimental music, improvisation and visual arts promoted by Xperimus. The posters use one typeface only and are loosely inspired by the almanaques, comics, magazines and other publications you would expect to find on a street kiosk of the 20th century. The central visual element evokes the ‘concertina’ (a type of accordion), used in a provincial (and, arguably, very boring : ) Portuguese music and dance called ‘Rancho’, after which the project is named.
