Of all the exhibition spaces that inhabit Venice’s Giardini della Biennale, the Finnish pavilion exists in the greatest degree of tension. One of the smallest structures on the site, encompassing only a single wedge-shaped room, with its striking blue and white faced it might also be the most impactful. But as its history relates, the most surprising fact about the building may be that it remains here at all.
