REGAL ILLUSION

The pieces created for this unit, explores the idea that people can adjust and portray their identity through illusion and adjustable body adornment pieces. Personal adornment can also be seen as a form of communication in relation to aesthetics concerning the ideals of beauty and individuality. This project explores the importance an individual places on asserting their own uniqueness in communicating fashion as not only objects which adorn the body, but establishing their own identity.
Aesthetically, the samples explore the communication of power through bodily form. Innovative and contemporary materials such as hand dyed Perspex and digital printing celebrate strong, powerful, motifs and striking materials, which empower the structure of the female form
