Resume Cancer Recovery

For my project, I aimed to look at the theme of cancer recovery. There are an estimated 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK which is a number that is ever increasing and expected to reach 4 million by 2030. The number of people surviving cancer for 5 or more years after their diagnosis is also increasing. The number has risen by over 260,000 in the last 5 years. Therefore, I believed that there is an increasing need to help people on this recovery journey.
I designed an app called "Resume" which aims to help, motivate and encourage cancer recovery patients to get their life back in a gamified and fun way that is built upon goals, challenges and rewards.
The app is broken into categories to help the user in 5 different areas of their life: Social, Exercise, Nutrition, Appearance and Work.
Users can set their point targets for each category and for completing these are given a reward in order t encourage and motivate. The app could be partnered with global scale businesses such as Costa Coffee and could provide a reward such as a free coffee if you bring a friend.
Partnering with a company such as Costa Coffee to provide rewards and create links for supporting and raising awareness of the app as cancer affects 1 in 2 of us in our lifestyle so is a far reaching problem that could happen to anyone.
Raising awareness of the "Resume" app by putting up posters around hospitals so patients are aware of the help before they start their recovery.
