Some are referring to it as a renaissance, some are afraid it won’t last long, others are rushing to capitalise on their identity – all of us are dumbfounded by our own beauty. There is a sense of gratitude in not only seeing queer blackness shine but being able to say: “You inspire me, I’m coming to your show”, and, “that’s my friend”. It is also a time of transnational exchange, we are connecting across the globe rapidly in a whirling movement fully aligned with assured transcendence. “I can do this”, and, “you can do this”, is now, “we are doing this”, and, “we have done it”.
