ROOTS

Roots is a collection of work which looks at Female Identity, Race and Heritage. The women photographed are all mixed white and Caribbean heritage and when discussing the things that make up their heritage their answers were all unified. Food, Music, History and Hair. Roots address this and also highlight histories of colonial pasts as well as femininity. The images show the woman as embracing the parts of their identities wholeheartedly even though they do not adhere to Eurocentric notions of beauty.
