Football is one of the most loved and powerful sports in the world and yet research shows:
42% of British fans have witnessed homophobic behaviour
37% of American soccer fans would be uncomfortable if a player in the national team came out as gay or bisexual
In Egypt that figure rises to 90%
Zero male soccer players currently playing in Europe’s top five leagues have come out as gay
High profile individuals across the world have come together with a small group of creative activists from Brazil, Spain, Russia, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States to create and promote 6 one-of-a-kind commemorative World Cup/Pride jerseys.
The jerseys include an arm patch that reads We Belong to the Same Team.
The beautifully crafted colourful jerseys tailored in Amsterdam by Blood In Blood Out bring together the team strips from a multitude of countries across all five continents competing; including Australia, Brazil, Iceland, Japan, Senegal, Spain, South Korea and Tunisia.
Founders at creative agency Activista - Paco Conde and Beto Fernandez - are the brains behind the initiative. Founded in May ‘18, Activista is a creative company based in Los Angeles committed to driving social, political and cultural change through the power of ideas.
