With their upcoming exhibition 'I'm Only a Temporary Custodian of These Works' Magnus Gjoen and Sara Pope come together to contemplate the fleeting nature of life, beauty and possession. We capture tweaked moments of our lives on social media trying to make ourselves look happy and perfect, while the opposite is often the truth.
Pope's work aims to capture beauty in a state of exaggerated perfection, a state made profound only by its very temporary nature. While Gjoen's works show a hint of the trouble behind the picture perfect façade.
Together their art combine to create an exhibition that explores contemporary ideals of beauty, perfection and the desire for possession, all being impossible concepts.
