I got married in October and was ordered by my wife Sarah to design the wedding invitations and save the date cards.
Having decided to go against the conventional A5/A6 format for the invitations, I decided on a DL format instead. I wanted to design two seperate cases. One to hold the more important details for the ceremony and the other to hold the rest of the information cards. The cases would be held together by two bands with our initials on.
The design itself, was firstly all hand drawn then finished in Illustrator to be laser cut. Sarah has a fondness of Morrocan patterns, which the design is loosely based on. Teal, navy and blue were the theme colours of the wedding.
300gsm pearlescent card was used to make the cases and were perforated for better folding.
The save the date cards are in a calender format with the wedding date ink stamped.
