Save Our Wildlife: Selfridges

  • Claire Price-Hunt
Final Major Project.
A one month campaign carried out by Selfridges and Greenpeace, to highlight the human- caused dangers faced by our wildlife.
The windows each take the form of miniature stage sets, borrowing elements from fun fairs, the theatre and vintage children's toys. Theatre, funfairs and toys all offer a form of escapism - they can whisk you into a different world, if just for a moment. These windows offer glimpses into these animal's specialised worlds, which they themselves may soon be just vintage exhibits. At a first glance the landscapes of these installations will evoke warm feelings of nostalgia and curiousity; it is only when taking a closer look - perhaps at the shooting targets trained on the elephants, or the dripping chemicals behind the shimmering honey bees, that the viewer can see there are more sinister meanings at play.
