Readers of our previous issue may have made note of the shocking statistic that if we continue our currently wasteful habits then, by weight, there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish by the year 2050 – with one rubbish lorry of single use plastic entering our oceans and waterways each minute. Not only is sea life harmed by single use plastics, but it affects our health too with micro-plastics ending up on our plate via the fish we eat.
