Second Skin

Pollution and climate change is a global issue with an ever increasing threat to human life. The damage we are doing ourselves and the environment is irreparable and yet there are still not enough safeguards and regulations in place to protect people in all corners of society.
This collaboration speculates a dystopic near future scenario in which technologies such as 3D printing with human cells, that are already becoming ever more accessible and currently being used in the beauty industry for growing skin for product testing, could be the next beauty product for mass consumption.
In a world of premature ageing and various life threatening health concerns such as skin cancer, related to both pollution and climate change, this project questions the lengths people might go to, in order to protect and preserve ones natural beauty. And what the industry might look like behind this.
Are you ready for your second skin?
