I taught 18 students aged 16-20 from The Gambia Senior Secondary School, Banjul the basics of photography in relation to themselves and their environment. The focus of the workshops was how to tell a story through an image. Every student was given a disposable camera to use and we discussed their photographs in the final workshop. I exhibited and published the Gambian students' photographs in a photobook entitled, ‘See What I See’, after raising funds through a successful online Kickstarter campaign and O2 Telefonica Foundation funding. The project won a Creative Conscience Award 2014. The photobook has been exhibited in London, Tokyo and Brighton, and is on sale in London and Amsterdam bookshops.
