HKIFFS is dedicated to the discovery and promotion of creativity in the art and culture of film. From 2006-2013, it organizes the Asian Film Awards (AFA) as a major event of Hong Kong's Entertainment Expo
Duties
• Reporting directly to Director of the Society
• Overall management, development, planning, supervision and liaison of all aspects of the AFA including but not limited to budget management, audited nomination and voting process, production, artiste invitation and management, hospitality, marketing, public relations, sponsorship, funding application and report
Achievements
• Strengthened leadership skills through leading a team of 17pax responsible for the award having 2,500 audience, 100 international filmmakers and artists, attracting over 500 reporters from over 230 publications of 21 countries
• Further developed hospitality skills through artist invitation, management, onsite hospitality planning and services. Serving artistes and overseas guests up to 500pax
• Applied marketing and communication skills by adapting strategic planning with PR agencies, successfully partnered with TV broadcasters and social media (e.g. FOX Int’l, Hunan TV, CCTV and Phoenix TV for China, TVB in HK, Starhub in Singapore, Youku China, Yahoo!HK), international and local printed media (e.g. The Wall Street Journal, Baccarat, the Hollywood Reporter) to promote, report and televise the show within the territory and over the world. Extensive coverage about the award was achieved for which over 1,440 printed and online new clippings had been produced
