Hand painted rubber vest sculptures pt2

  • Chanelle Edwards

Five more vests and dresses from Series1:It's Political, an ongoing series of hand painted rubber vest and dress sculptures featuring statements inspired by current social, political and environmental issues.

'Dark Ages"
This statement was inspired by a blog post I wrote entitled: 'Are we still living in the dark ages?'. A question I sometimes think to myself, whenever I hear about another archaic law that still exists today. Especially those that effect or oppress women...
'1 Planet'
Just a little reminder that- despite all the space exploration that is going on, we still only have this one planet we know that we can actually live on, so we need to do everything that we can to protect 'our mother'...
'War child'
I was tempted to write 'War Crimes' instead of 'Child', (due to the British goverments involvement in the Yemen war- selling arms to Saudi Arabia); but I also wanted to remind us of those who are most effected by the actions of our usually money/power hungry leaders..
'Ice cold' -> Immigration policies and treatment.

'Filthy Rich' -> countries, politicians, buisnessess ectr.
I share more of my process, and the inspiration behind each artwork on my blog and research instagram page
